Where Church and community
come together

All are welcome

Emmanuel Church is a welcoming
Church of England church
serving the communities of Gipsy Hill and West Dulwich.

Join us every Sunday at 10am for worship

Emmanuel is a small and committed family of believers from the local area and beyond…

Welcome to our new website! And welcome to Emmanuel.

As a church family, we are committed to worshipping together in spirit and in truth, seeking to grow in faith as we serve the Lord Jesus in our daily lives. Though small, we are looking to grow, and as we put down new roots after the pandemic, we are confident the Lord will be adding to our number!

We are developing a new programme of community service that has seen us open a Foodhub in collaboration with Norwood and Brixton Foodbank that now serves over 40 lunches each week with advice from Foodbank and Centre 70, and a space to come and enjoy friendship and conversation with other local people. The Foodhub runs from 11-2 every Thursday in the Community Centre next door to the church.

After Easter 2022 we are re-opening our weekly after school homework club for school years 4 to 9 (6-7pm), and our youth evenings for 12-18 year olds (7-9pm). Along with a committed team of volunteers from church, these groups have benefited from funding and support from Lambeth Council and Norwood Forum through the Gipsy Hill Health and Wellbeing Fund.

If you would like to know more - come and see us
on a Sunday morning, or drop me a line at

Events Coming Up at Emmanuel

We’ve been here for generations as the place where church and community come together. Emmanuel is your church. You are always welcome here.

Food Hub

We operate a Food Hub in conjunction with Norwood and Brixton Foodbank, where you can come and find food, friendly faces and supoprt and advice. We prepare and serve healthy fresh meals to those in the local community who are struggling to put food on the table.

We also resource a drop in where individuals can meet advisers from local advice clinics and the Foodbank Team for emergency food parcels.

Parent and toddler group

Rainbows, our stay and play toddler group, runs every Monday morning from 10-12. Entry is just £3 with plenty of toys and activities for pre-schoolers and a chance to get to know other parents and carers.
